Welcome to the home of Arkansas's premier Pontiac car club. Our objective is simple. We offer Pontiac car enthusiasts a family environment in which they can enjoy their automobiles and each other. We welcome any past, current or future owner of Pontiac automobiles to join us.

2008 Poncho Power Tour
There are simply not enough superlatives in the english language to describe what a wonderful weekend we had as the annual Poncho Power Tour cruised to Eureka Springs and back. The weather was outstanding and the fall colors were at their peak. It was great cruising, great friends and great food as we wandered through the Ozarks. From the first impromptu stop at Thad Harvey's house to view his collection of old service station memoribilia to the cruise through Lost Valley where we saw the elk herd to our final stop for the traditional "Chris and Emily ice cream" it was a great, great time. Make plans to join us next year. Who knows where we'll end up? As always, click above for more pictures.

2008 Big Cruisefest
We're a little slow getting the pictures up on this one. Sorry for the delay but we've been busy (see above). The Arkansas Pontiac Association wants to thank all the participants in this year's Big Cruisefest. We couldn't do it without you! The weather was outstanding and the cars were fabulous. We hope you had as good a time as we did and hope you join us again next year. As always, click above for more pictures.

Cabotfest car show
A few of the APA members got together and made a run to Cabotfest for the Christian Car Club's car show. It was a crowd with over 120 cars but the CCC made it work and we all had a great time. Congratulations go out to Geoffery Schwark, Brian Ray and Marshall Johnson for winning top 20 trophies. That was quite an achievemnt in a field that large using a popular vote to select the winners.

Wheelin' & Healin 2008
What can we say? You wonderful people continue to amaze us. We had a last minute location change, rotton weather to start the day and multiple other car shows in the area and we still managed to register 122 cars. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I suspect it's not because we run that great of a car show but because you all understand how much we want to raise money for Arkansas Children's Hospital. We said it yesterday and we will say it here. I'd give a trophy to every one of you because you're all winners for support the cause.

A special thank you to all our sponsors, including Little Rock Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Dixie Cafe, Blocker's Performance and Restoration, B&M Engines, Schlumberger, Reeds Early Iron, Crain Pontiac Buick GMC and our friends at the City Of Maumelle. We couldn't do it without them.

We hope you all had a good time with us. We hope you understand that our folks did their best to make it a fun day for you. We may not be perfect but we are giving it our best effort. We also hope you'll continue to support the central Arkansas car scene with your presence at upcoming events, such as Big Cruisefest on October 24-25 in the River Market. We'll see you there!

August Cruisin' In The Rock
Friday night, Sep 5th was a beautiful night to drive the hot rod, and about 98 other people agreed with me at the September edition of Cruisin’ in the Rock. The bad weather earlier in the week cleared out just in time for us to have a nice cool evening and a lot of fun. Long-distance member Frankie Rider even drove his very rare Trans Am GTA Notch-Back down from Locust Grove AR (near Mountain View). Cara Haynie rode her motorcycle to the event, having come straight from work, and ended up getting the Best Motorcycle Award!

Dad's Old Car
Dad's Old Car meet, hosted by CAMS car club, was a big hit again this year. 50 plus cars showed up at Fort Roots Veterans Hospital to have a cruise in and honor the veterans. APA held its monthly meeting under the trees. We took pictures for you so click on the one above.

Hot Rod Power Tour
The big daddy of all driving events kicked off in Little Rock this year. The 2008 edition of the Hot Rod Power Tour started at the fairgrounds in Little Rock and worked it's way through the midwest before ending in Madison, Wisconson. Little Rock was hot, steamy and a car person's heaven! There was everything from exotic sports cars to the Family Truckster from the National Lampoon "Vacation" movie. Several club members made at least a portion of the trip and one, Cara Haynie, made the long haul. Brian Ray took all of the pictures we have here and they include the Little Rock and Springfield, Missouri stops. There are also some shots of many of the club members on the road between stops. Click on the picture above for more photos.

Cruisapalooza
The Cruisapalooza parade and cruise in at the Little Rock River Market kicked off the 2008 Hot Rod Power Tour. The Arkansas Pontiac Association and the City of Little Rock played host to over 400 cars that came down to join in the fun. Thank you to all the members who helped us get those cars in and parked. According to Carol Dolan, from the Little Rock Convention and Visitor's Bureau, we had all the parade participants off Clinton Avenue and on the way to parking spaces in 22 minutes. Folks, that's parking some cars! Carol also arranged for fun stuff, like the tricycle race, live music and door prizes. As usual, we took a bunch of photos for those of you who couldn't join us. 2008 track day
The annual APA day at the Centerville track was great! This year the weather cooperated and we had a lot of fun. There were plenty of Pontiacs running hard and a bunch more just hanging around the pit area. We got see friends and members from all over. Special recognition to Johnny Gilliam who was runner up in the "Real Street" (slicks and power adders allowed) class on Saturday night. Johnny took on all comers with traditional Pontiac power and stayed with them until the final round. Team APA didn't fare so well in the team race on Sunday with many of the participants dropping out in the first round. Oh well, there's always next year. Click on the picture above for more photos.

2008 OReilly
Why is this man holding a pink cupcake and smiling? Because he's been to the annual Vilonia Valentines show and shine you silly goose! Marshall Johnson and everyone else had their fill of cupcakes and other delicious food while enjoying the cars and good company. The Vilonia Car Club scaled back some of the events from past years so you won't get to see pictures of yours truly doing the hula-hoop this year but we did take photos of the cars so click on the Marshall's smiling face for the full gallery of images.

2008 OReilly
O'Reilly's Autofest was great show again this year. The APA came away with three Top 40 awards. Congratulations to Wayne Major, Geoffrey Schwark and Brian Ray for their award winning GTOs. Congratulations to CAMS Car Club for their win in the Club Display catagory. We'll have to see if we can catch up to their first class display next year. For those of you who didn't make it down to the Statehouse Convention Center, we took a lot of pictures. Click on the one above for the gallery.

2007 Christmas
The annual APA Christmas party was a laugh riot. Brian and Mary Ann Ray hosted the event in their beautiful new home in Cabot. The food was excellent but, as always, the highlight of the evening was the round of "Dirty Santa" as members exchanged gifts. Everything from garden gnomes to a pink tool kit emerged from the wrapped packages. Tammy Ritter was especially thrilled with her new hat! We can't wait to do it again next year.
