July meeting (now August 14th)

Postby critter » Tue Jun 29, 2010 8:42 am

Member Mark Osborne has graciously invited us to his home for a cookout and photo opportunity during our July meeting. We will move the meeting to Saturday, July 24th at 6:00 p.m. We're shooting for later in the day in case the heat stays with us. At least it starts to cool down some in the evening. The photo opportunity is the barn that Mark has on his property with the old service station signs on it. It makes a great backdrop for a picture of your car!

Marks address is 525 East Lee in Sherwood. He says you should get there by coming in off Keihl because the bridge is out on Lee. So you will be turning south off of Keihl on Holiday and then west on Lee. Here is a link to the Google Maps location.

Mark has offered to grill some chicken so we'd like to make a pot luck out of the event. That means I need a head count as soon as possible. Send me an email and let me know if your going to attend, how many are in your party and what you'll be bringing to contribute to the meal.

Mark also tells me that swimming and fishing are allowed so if you want to bring your gear, come on!

We've postponed this until August 14th. All other details remain the same. Let me know as soon as possible if you'll be there so we can buy chicken accordingly.

We'll be there. We were bummed about not being able to make it this month, so this will work much better for us. And I really want to get a picture of the GTO by Mark's gas station/shed.

Don't tell her it's a car thing. Tell her it's a family reunion. It is sort of like family, isn't it?

I put up a picture of Mark's barn on the home page. He's got quite a collection of vintage signs to make a great photo background for the cars. He says bring your fishing pole as well since they have a lake!

Check on the new date, that will work better actually since my daughter's B-day is on Sunday. More time to get ready for it.

Oh yeah, and my G8 will look different by then......... 8)

A very large thank you to Mark and Kelli (sp?) for opening their home to us tonight for our meeting. The food and hospitality were outstanding. I'd also like to tell Mark I'm sorry for not screaming like a little girl when we were airborne. It was only because I had absolute faith in the driving of Bo Duke. ;)

Yes thanks very much.
Sorry I didn't come back in to say goodbye, but I got winded fighting the cat to get my chairs bagged so I took off.
I had a great time. :Peace:
